This piece of work expresses the pain caused by the loss of a romantic relationship. The love that was once positive is now shattered due to the abandonment of a shared vision and a broken mutual promise. The couple has parted ways and distanced themselves from each other, going from being intimate and united to becoming strangers.
My orchestral Ecuadorian music is the culmination of a process of internalizing folk music. To me, the orchestra is the grand medium for conveying the deepest sentiments of the self or portraying the experiences, individual or collective, of a group of humans. My orchestral pasillos possess a touch of knowledge, a hint of artistry, a dash of technique, and an abundance of heart.
